Adam has found a new friend, and is very happy about it. Hao lives a few houses down from us with his mommy Jing, and daddy Michael. Today Hao and his mommy joined us on a excursion to Clemyiontri Park. The boys enjoyed running, exploring, playing, and eating in this big park. We have a feeling these boys have many adventures ahead of them, hand in hand.
Adam enjoyed his visit to the playground at Burke Lake today. He scaled his first steps as he crawled along the play equipment. It was nice to get some fresh air and take a little time just to play outside. But what Adam enjoyed the most was watching other children. He liked watching them climb, run, and slide. He loved it when they stopped and talked to him. He is our little social boy.
Mason District Park was a fun park to explore. It is a large park with two playgrounds, sports fields, tennis courts, trails, a hidden dog park, an amphitheater, and picnic areas. This evening after Daddy got off work we had some family time together in the park. After had a small snack we ventured down one of the hiking trails, following signs leading to the dog park. It was scenic and peaceful. Smaller trails branched off along the way. A few hills and almost a mile later we passed the dog park. A sign on the fence read: Limit 62 Dogs. As we continued it got darker and darker, making it harder to distinguish where the trail was or to read the guide posts pointing back to the main park. With low visibility we were relieved to see the lights of the tennis courts and parking lot come into view. This park merits more exploring, but next time maybe we will go around lunchtime.
Our travels today took us to Lake Accotink park. Mommy and Adam walked there for a play group, and Daddy joined during his lunch break . Lake Accontink has a little beach area. Adam enjoyed feeling the sand in his fingers, seeing the geese, and being near the water. He had so much fun that by the time Daddy arrived he was ready for a nap.
After church today we headed over to Purcellville to spend Easter with family. Adam is getting very excited now when he sees his Aunt Caitlin. He likes to play with her, and hug her and grab her cheeks. He must have heard somewhere about the connection between cheeks and aunts. We all had a good time. We rejoiced that because of the resurrection of our Savior the connections with those we love will last even beyond the grave. Happy Easter to all!
Today we had our first picnic as a family of three. The weather was holding out, and we could not pass up the opportunity. During Daddy's lunch break we went to Edsall Park. We enjoyed the warmth. Adam even got to ride his first horse. Well OK, rocking horse.
