House of ZZZZZZZZZZ

There were a lot of sleep vibes in our home today. Adam is mostly recovered from his cold, Nathan is on the road to recovery, and Emily, well, is hoping to be on the road to recovery. So today all of us spent quite a bit of time in bed trying to catch those zzzzzzzz. These pictures were caught during two different naps.

This Is A Spoon

The long awaited day finally arrived. Adam had his very first baby cereal this evening. He took to the spoon quickly and was more than willing to eat this new food. It is fun to watch his excitement as he discovers his world. Just wait baby, the fun has just begun.

After all that hard work, Adam zonked out.

Birthday Cake

Adam turned four months old today. We celebrated with a carrot cake with lemon cream cheese frosting. Adam liked looking at the cake. He was however disappointed that Daddy & Mommy did not let him inspect it with his hands and mouth. Happy four month birthday, Adam!

Down Time

We've had a lot of down time these past few days with Adam being sick. He has his first cold. When night comes, all he wants is to be held by Mommy or Daddy. It's hard to see the little guy suffering and not be able to make it better or to explain to him what is happening.

There comes a point in almost every person's life where the most exciting thing they do in a given day is get a couch. That day was today for us. We got a couch. It cost $20. It's not lovely, but now you can sit in the living room without dragging in a chair from the kitchen. Now, when you visit our house, you will be able to sit down!

I Want Some Too

For dinner tonight we had Hawaiian haystacks. They must have looked good to Adam. He reached up and took a fistfull off Mommy's plate, and quickly moved his hand towards his mouth. He was quite pleased with his new accomplishment. Mommy was still faster. She removed chow mein noodles, rice, and a piece of chicken from his little fist before he had a chance to feast. He decided to skip the rice cereal step and go straight to rice and meat.

Adam's contraband.

Future Contemplations

Adam contemplates whether he should be an accountant or play in the NBA.

Superman Suit

January 22, 2009

October 23, 2008

Adam has an amazing outfit. It is dark blue with an outer space theme. This outfit is unique not only in it's design but in the fact that it seems to grow with him, just like Superman's. We pulled it out today to see if it still fits him, and were surprised to find that it did. Not only did it fit, there was still some room to grow.
He seems to grow so fast- just tonight we put two of his size 3 months pajamas in the too little drawer, and a few of the outfits he wears are six to nine months. The blue outer space outfit is labeled "Newborn".
We went through his pictures. The first photographic evidence of him wearing the "Superman Suit" was taken when he was only three weeks old. Nathan was drawn to the "Superman Suit" when he first saw it. Was it the outer space design, or its powers that attracted him?

Fashion Show

Adam grows so fast that we inventory his clothes often. We have found the best way to tell what fits is to try them on him. The sorting goes something like this: too small, just right, soon to fit, and too big. He loves to play dress up, so this is always a highlight for him. Today we tried on one too many too-small outfits. This frustrated our little Goldilocks. He likes his clothes "just right."

Hello Cutie

New Experiences, Greater Heights

Adam attended a play group today, his very first. When we arrived he was asleep. Amelia, the little two and a half year old girl whose home it was at, was so excited to see a baby. As soon as he was awake she was ready to give him hugs. Adam was fascinated by all the little people playing. He just studied and studied them. At one point while we were sitting on the floor (Adam in front of me) I let go of him. He remained sitting unsupported for a few minutes. This was his first time of sitting by himself. Good job buddy. Perhaps he was so focused on the children that he forgot to topple over. Or maybe they inspired him to greater heights.

...Or Maybe Not

Adam rested for a while, then decided that the night was still young. A few hours after we took the picture in the last post, Adam awoke, ready for a late-night party.
