I'll Go Inside Someday

We went to the Washington, DC Temple tonight. Adam enjoyed being on the temple grounds, and in the visitor's center. He soaked up the attention of the sister missionaries, who loved his new necktie bib. He marveled at some of the displays and the voices that came from hanging speakers. He was a happy little boy tonight. We were all refreshed by the Spirit that was there.

A Package of Biblical Proportions

A large package came to our house today addressed to Mr. Adam Summers. We were all very excited with the arrival of new bibs from Grandma Bairn. There was even a Garden of Eden bib for Adam. During Adam's inspection process, he tried to taste three bibs at the same time. Thanks, Grammy, we can't wait to use them!

Product Placement

Adam is ready for changes! He got so excited when we pulled the new baby wipes out of the box with their shiny packages. He has always been a boy who like having a fresh diaper on. It was fitting for him to get excited about them.

Sleeping Like A Log

Adam fell asleep face-down on Mommy's lap this afternoon. She was successful in moving him to his bassinet without him waking.

Runnin On Gum Power

Close Adam, but you might get further using your hands also.

While Daddy was at work today Adam quickly moved from one activity to the next. The only things that held his interest long term seemed to be eating and sleeping. So Mommy pulled out his walker. Adam held on and walked up and down the hall (supported by Mommy of course). But when Daddy pulled out the camera this evening, all Adam wanted to do was gum the walker.

The Bassinet Days Are Numbered

Our sweet little boy is growing so fast. He barely fits in the bassinet. He is also teetering enough on the edge of mobility that soon he may attempt to climb out. It is time to make finishing his bumper pad for his crib a priority.

The Rise and Fall of Adam Summers

Adam was sitting in Daddy's lap when without warning, he all of a sudden stood up. This surprised Daddy, since he had never tried to stand unassisted before. The momentum used to stand also led to a quick forward plunge. Fortunately Daddy was there to catch his fall. Sometimes we look at our falls, and wish someone was there to cushion our landing. How often do we with childlike faith try again, and again, and again believing the goal is within reach?

Asparagus Extravaganza

Tonight Adam feasted on pureed asparagus. It was his first time eating in his new highchair, which was given to him by friends from church. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It has become his habit to wipe his face with his bib. Adam likes to dig right in, but makes no delay in cleaning up when he's finished. It is so cute to watch his budding personality emerge.

The Other Baby Moses

We met Baby Moses today. Nathan's coworkers, Joe and Katie Wolf, recently welcomed their third son into their family. His name is Moses. We had a nice visit with them. We told them that Adam had a doll named Baby Moses, and they were amused. Welcome to the world, Baby Moses!

Summers, Summers, & Summers

Adam met one of his new extended cousins this evening, Wesley Summers. We go to church with Wesley's family: his Daddy Garret, Mommy Molly and big brother Liam. We both moved in within about a week of each other. Nathan & Garret compared genealogies and found out they share George Summers (1831-1883) as an ancestor, making them fourth cousins. Liam and Adam were quite excited to see each other. At one point Liam stood waving toys in front of Adam, and burst into laughter. It did not take long before Adam was also laughing. It was cute to see these three boys together.

Babies In Pink

Emily & Adam attended a recipe exchange this evening. Among the ladies there were two cute baby girls, Kennedy and Claire. Adam was quite taken by them. He paid close attention to their every move throughout our visit. Emily exchanged recipes; Adam exchanged toys and smiles.

Duck, Duck, Goose

Friends of a feather should flock together. Today Adam fashioned his yellow ducky outfit, while he played with his feathered friends. He loves his stuffed animals, Goose & Bear-Duck. He always gets happy to see either one. He was also happy to discover when he awoke from a nap, that Meredith & Stephen Aquila had come to play games. A day well spent with feathers and friends.

Sleeping In

Daddy snapped this picture while he was getting ready for work. Mommy and Adam were tired because Adam had a hard time sleeping last night. Adam loves to snuggle with his parents.

I'm Not Ready Yet

At last, Adam had fallen asleep for the night... or so we thought. As Mommy was carrying Adam to bed, his head was resting on her shoulder. It looked so sweet. Daddy got the camera, but before he even turned it on Adam was awake again. He is starting to get to the point were he wants to see the camera after we take a picture. Perhaps he knew if he slept through the shoot, he might miss out on the showing.

Presidents

Adam spent President's Day spending a Washington and a Lincoln. The money was wisely invested in a refill for his Diaper Genie.

I Have A Request

Adam had a request today. He was sitting on Mommy's lap while she worked on the computer. He started getting fussy. Daddy noticed him looking longingly at and leaning toward our doll "Baby Moses". Mommy retrieved the doll for him. He immediately started smiling, and hugging and kissing her. He has just begun not only showing interest in objects we give him, but expressing a desire for specific others out of his reach. Watch out, world, here comes Adam!

Sabbath Day

We love the Sabbath. One of the highlights of Adam's week is going to church. He loves it when everyone sings to him. His attention is riveted on the music leader during singing time in primary. Today we sat on the stand because Daddy and Mommy were talking in church. He got very excited to be right by the piano, and have the chorister standing next to him. We also were able to visit with family in Purcelville, another favorite activity reserved usually for Sundays and holidays.

Love & Errands

Adam at Costco.
Adam wanted us to share our dinner at Red Hot & Blue.
Valentine's day spent with those we love. Today we did some catching up and running errands, such as our trip to Costco. We went out to dinner together at one of our favorite restaurants, Red Hot & Blue. We enjoyed just being together and sharing our day and love.

Toes

Adam has discovered his toes!

Linked Together

Links are one of Adam's favorite toys. Just as the rings are linked together we are grateful for the links in our lives. Links to family, friends, communities, the past, the future, and God - all enrich our lives, and give us cause to rejoice.

Forward Thinking

The swing has a relaxing almost mesmorizing effect on Adam. He often falls asleep in it. Lately he has taken to leaning forward as he slips into slumber. This morning Daddy noticed him slunched over, and leaned him back into a reclining position, only to have Adam imediately lean forward again. Who are we to say what is comfortable?

Tummy Time

Our pediatrician repeatedly stressed the importance of tummy time for Adam. Adam was so full tonight. He kept pulling up his shirt showing off his round tummy. This brought him much happiness. Is this what the doctor ordered?

Cool Dude

Our little studious guy inspected his baby chair. It must have passed inspection since the smiles soon followed.

Centerpiece

Adam accompanied Daddy and Mommy on a date tonight. We had been out to a doctor's appointment across town, and decided to go out to eat when we finished. Adam flirted with the restaurant staff, then quickly fell asleep. We layed him on the table to rest. People commented on how peaceful he looked. We are happy to have him as the centerpiece of our lives.

Doll Baby

We have a doll baby; our doll baby has a baby doll. It was cute to see Adam's expression when Mommy got out his baby. Aunt Elisabeth would be proud. He was so happy to have his baby. He was a proud "Little Papa".

Smile For The Camera

Our little man got his picture taken professionally today.

Old McAdam Had A Farm

Old McAdam had a farm. And on that farm he practiced his new sitting skills. With a horse here, and a cow there, Old McAdam had a farm.
